January school re-opening

Dear Parents/Carers,

Happy New Year to you all! I hope that you have all enjoyed a happy and safe Christmas break.

On 30th December 2020, the government announced that some primary schools across the country would not be able to open for all children at the start of January. Unfortunately, schools in Barking and Dagenham are included in this.

This means that our school will not be opening to everyone until further notice. The decision will be reviewed ahead of Monday 18th January 2021 and I will, of course, keep you all updated as soon as I receive any updated information.

For now, remote learning will be provided for most children using Class Dojo or Google Classroom from Tuesday 5th January. Most year groups are set up to be able to use these online learning platforms now and teachers will be in touch to support you in getting set up, if your child does not already have access.

The government have said that our school can open for vulnerable children and those children whose parents/carers are critical workers. If your child is in either of these categories, we will contact you on Monday 4th January to confirm arrangements for your child/ren to come to school from Tuesday 5th January.

Information about these two categories can be found at the link below:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision

If you are not contacted by us and believe that your child is in one of these categories, please call the office on 0208 270 4900 between 12.00 and 4.00 p.m. on Monday 4th January and we will do what we can to help.

Thank you once again for your patience, support and understanding during these continued, unusual and challenging times.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Marie Ziane
