  • Spring Cleaning in the Pupil Forum

Fri 30 May 2014 Miss Jensen

The pupil forum was looking a little crowded with inactive accounts, so today I have had a bit of a tidy up!

Children, if you haven't logged in to your forum account for over a year, you will find that it has been deleted. Don't worry though - if you want to get involved in the conversation again you can create a new account.

Don't forget, while the school blog is a formal and public space to discuss your work and ideas, the forum is a private and informal place to chat (which you should not do on the blog!). See you there!

During our Walk to School ‘London to Paris’ challenge,

Becontree pupils walked a fantastic total of 644.4 miles!

The top three walking classes were 1J, 6G and 2Gr.

1J contributed the most miles with 52 miles altogether.

Well done to all the walkers and a big thank-you to all the parents and carers who helped support their children in walking to school!

  • SATs week in Year 6- May 12th to Friday 16th 2014

Sun 11 May 2014 Miss Gaughran
Year 6 teachers would like to wish all the Year sixes taking part in the national assessments this week the best of luck! We know, first hand, that they have all been working hard, especially in the last few weeks, in the effort to do their very best.  Whatever happens, we are proud of all their achievements this year!
  • Walk to School week, 19th to the 23rd May 2014.

Sun 11 May 2014 Miss Gaughran
The students of Becontree are being challenged to 'walk' from London to Paris (and back) as part of the National Walk to School Week. Every student that walks will contribute miles to reach the target of 416 miles by the end of the week. We hope that lots of extra children with their parents will try walking to school in support.
  • Becontree goes Potato Crazy!

Sun 11 May 2014 Miss Gaughran

  • Food Revolution Day

Sun 11 May 2014 Miss Gaughran

Year 6 are taking part in Food Revolution Day on Friday 16th May with a live streaming event with celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver. They will be learning to make healthy rainbow wraps. The name 'rainbow' comes from the range of different coloured fruit and vegetables that go together to make the wrap. Photos will follow at the end of the event and we will upload, shortly, the recipe for any families who would like to try some simple but healthy cooking with the whole family!

Recipe can be found in the gallery alongside photos of the event in school.
