  • Tate Britain project

Mon 04 Nov 2019 Miss Pearce

Last year, year 4 took part in the Steve McQueen Year 3 Tate Britain art project. Altogether 3182 year 3 classes from all across London had their class photo taken. 70,000 children participated and the class photos will be displayed in the art gallery from now until May, reflecting the diversity of our city in what will be one of the largest scale installations.

4WC however were extremely lucky to have their photo chosen to feature on a massive billboard to advertise the exhibition. Miss Pearce found it at an underground station. It is up for 2 weeks in 12 locations...Will you be able to spot us?

The importance of nursery rhymes for the under 7’s

Nursery rhymes play an important role in early childhood development and education. As well as being fun they are excellent teaching tools:

    • Nursery rhymes and children’s songs boost vocabulary and language development
    • They help children to develop literacy skills
    • They provide a fun way to support early numeracy skills
    • Nursery rhymes help children to develop social, physical and emotional skills.
