Hooked on Books

At Becontree, we recognise the importance of

reading in our community and aim to support children to achieve highly at school and to become independent learners. We wish to celebrate the children's efforts towards this with our reward system called, 'Hooked on Books'. 

Each week, the teachers, from Years 1 to 6, will recognise an individual in their class who represents the behaviour of a reader: trying their best, talking about books and reading.

Reception are now included in the fun of 'Hooked on 

Books' from the spring term onwards.

Weekly winners of Hooked on Books receive a book prize and a certificate.

Names will be shared as part of the Friday Award Assembly.
