At the initiative of the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, the European Day of Languages has been celebrated every year since 2001 on 26 September.
Yesterday, 26 September 2012, Becontree once again celebrated the diversity of languages in Europe, and our own school, by holding a special assembly at the end of the day. Each class of children had made hats to represent one of the European countries and performed a song to the rest of the school - from Year 6 all the way down to Reception! Coming on the back of our Ofsted visit last week, the assembly was a testament to the commitment of the school to offer a well-rounded, fun-filled education to our children. Enjoy the photos. We certainly enjoyed the performances. For more information and fun facts about languages use this link http://edl.ecml.at/
