Walk to School Week

In the Spring term, our Travel Ambassadors and Eco Committee organised another Walk to School Week following the fantastic response to last year's event. During a whole-school assembly, pupils learned about the many benefits of travelling actively to school, including reducing traffic-related air pollution around our school and improving health and wellbeing through regular exercise.

The challenge took place from Monday 18th May to Friday 22nd May 2026. Throughout the week, classes competed to achieve the highest number of children travelling actively to school by walking, riding a bike or scooting. The winning class in Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 received a certificate along with an extra active time session as a reward for their fantastic effort.

Congratulations to our winners:

  • Reception: RD
  • Key Stage 1: 2D
  • Key Stage 2: 3B

It was wonderful to see so many more children and their families choosing to travel actively to school during the week. Every journey helped to reduce congestion and improve air quality around the school, while encouraging healthy, active lifestyles. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the event such a success!
