The pupil forum was looking a little crowded with inactive accounts, so today I have had a bit of a tidy up!
Children, if you haven't logged in to your forum account for over a year, you will find that it has been deleted. Don't worry though - if you want to get involved in the conversation again you can create a new account.
Don't forget, while the school blog is a formal and public space to discuss your work and ideas, the forum is a private and informal place to chat (which you should not do on the blog!). See you there!
During our Walk to School ‘London to Paris’ challenge,
Becontree pupils walked a fantastic total of 644.4 miles!
The top three walking classes were 1J, 6G and 2Gr.
1J contributed the most miles with 52 miles altogether.
Well done to all the walkers and a big thank-you to all the parents and carers who helped support their children in walking to school!
Year 6 will be taking part in an enterprise programme organised by Young Enterprise along with Virgin Money. The Fiver challenge involves the children being given seed money (£5) to start a small business.
The enterprise programme will be run for the whole of June with a trade event at the end of the month. We will let you know the date of the event so that you can come along and support the young entrepreneurs as soon as possible.
Below is a link to more information on the Fiver challenge and how it works:

We will post images of the work the children complete as part of the challenge in the gallery for everyone to see.
Year 6 are taking part in Food Revolution Day on Friday 16th May with a live streaming event with celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver. They will be learning to make healthy rainbow wraps. The name 'rainbow' comes from the range of different coloured fruit and vegetables that go together to make the wrap. Photos will follow at the end of the event and we will upload, shortly, the recipe for any families who would like to try some simple but healthy cooking with the whole family!
Recipe can be found in the gallery alongside photos of the event in school.
